Course overview

The Level 2 Diploma in Plastering is perfect for students who want to get practical and start building a career in construction. You’ll learn how plasterers work on real jobs, from preparing walls and ceilings to applying smooth finishes that look professional.

You don’t need previous experience, this course will teach you the skills step by step in our workshops, so you can build confidence while learning what it’s like to work on site.

On this course, you’ll get practical experience in all the key skills a
plasterer needs:



  • The Construction Industry – see how plastering fits into
    building projects and learn about the different trades on site

  • Health and Safety – work safely and confidently on site,
    following the rules real plasterers use every day

  • Tools and Materials – learn to use plastering tools
    correctly and prepare materials for your work

  • Applying Plaster – practice smooth finishes on walls and
    ceilings, including patching and screeding

  • External and Decorative Finishes – explore how to protect
    and finish surfaces outside and inside buildings

You will spend most of your time learning in our well-equipped,
industry-standard workshops, where you’ll practise these skills in a supportive
and realistic environment. As your confidence grows, you will take on more
complex tasks that reflect real-life plastering work on site.

In addition to
your practical learning, you will have the opportunity to take part in national
skills competitions such as KFE4Skills and contribute to community projects.

These experiences will help you apply your skills in real-world settings,
build your confidence and develop teamwork and problem-solving skills that
employers are looking for.By the end of the course, you’ll be able to create
walls and ceilings that are straight, smooth, and look professional.
