EKC Folkestone Junior College offers an exciting alternative hands-on curriculum for those aged 14-16 specialising in creativity and business studies.

Who is Junior College for?

EKC Folkestone Junior College is a provision for learners aged 14 and over who would benefit from an alternative to secondary school education.

It provides an opportunity for students that have a clear direction or vision of the industry that they want to go into. Students in Junior College will be able to study areas including:

  • Art and Design
  • Business
  • GCSE English and Maths
  • Sport (Physical Eduaction)

A Practical Learning Experience

Students of the Junior College will work towards a UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design and a BTEC Level 2 Technical Certificate in Business Enterprise. They will also gain essential GCSEs in English and Maths.

English and Maths are a fundamental part of your educational experience and we are dedicated to ensuring you progress with the qualifications you will need for a future career in a range of areas.

Our Junior College campus

EKC Folkestone Junior College is a part of our School for Creative and Business, and is based on our College campus.

The Junior College is in a separate building from our 16+ students, meaning that your child will get the best education possible in their own space and environment.

Junior College applications are now open until Friday 29 March 2024.

You must currently be in Year 9 to apply.

Step 3 – Attend an Information Meeting

You will be invited to an information meeting at EKC Folkestone College, where our team will explore your options and discuss your suitability for the Junior College provision.
