The course is personalised to each student using a multi-sensory impairment baseline assessment. Students will create a portfolio of evidence to support their skill building throughout the course.

Students who demonstrate continued progression in their individual targets can remain on the Explore course for up to three years, with a planned progression to Adult Social Care.

This course is free of charge for all students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to the age of 24 years and for other young people with a high level of need to the age of 19 years.

Taking part in meaningful trips, events and social action projects in our local community are key to helping our students learn about the world whilst developing their skillset.

We run trips and events throughout the year, which students on our Inclusive Learning courses can be a part of.

All students also take part in our Community Weeks, which include working with local charities and organisations to help and support local people.

. There may be a small charge for non-curricular activities.

The duration of the course is up to three years, following evidence of individual progression, with a yearly reduction of days in the College to enable transition into other provisions.

• Year 1: Monday–Friday, 9am–3.30pm (Finish times may differ according to the college and transport.)
• Year 2: Four days per week
• Year 3: Three days per week

To support the change from school to college, staff will visit students in their current school and students can attend taster days at the College.
