Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies

All assessments are designed to showcase your practical skills and to ensure you’re ready for your next steps in the beauty industry.

You’ll mainly be assessed with practical observations in our commercial salon, alongside written tasks and exams that check your understanding of professional techniques.

Throughout the course, you’ll also build a portfolio of your work, giving you a visual record of your progress and achievements that you can use for future opportunities.

By building the ability to create polished, high-quality looks, you’ll be ready for an exciting beauty-focused career.

From working in salons across the country, to starting your own beauty therapy business, the opportunites are truly endless.

You can also go onto further study in this area, such as a Level 4 qualification or several university degrees, where you will further enhance your skills.

Level 3 student, Leila, was inspired to enter the Beauty industry by her parents, with her Mum working as a Beauty Therapist and her Dad working as a Barber. She said of her College experience:

“I would really recommend anyone to study Beauty as it’s a really good course. You learn lots of social skills and learn how to be independent.

“Thanks to College, I’ve also taken in my first proper beauty competition. I work as a nail technician when I’m not studying, and it’s been great to have new-found confidence in my work.”

From taking part in salon events to visiting major industry expos such as Salon International, you’ll experience a range of trips and opportunities that deepen your understanding of the beauty world.

Beauty students get to showcase their skills at the annual KFE4Skills competition, in which they’re tested against the clock in a series of challenges. Our students often win medals for their work.

By getting involved in events and working with local partners, you’ll begin to discover which area of the beauty industry suits your interests and strengths.

You’ll also be further prepared for your next steps by taking part in social action projects across the campus during Community Weeks. Not only do these boost your personal growth, but you’ll also give back and impact Folkestone for the better.
