Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing studies

Assessment will be conducted through hands-on evaluations in our salons,
complemented by written assignments and online examinations.

After you complete the course, you can do a Level 3 qualification which
will deepen your technical expertise and covers advanced cutting, colouring, and
styling techniques.

It also enhances your understanding of salon management and client
consultation, preparing you for senior stylist roles or
self-employment.

If you’re interested in diversifying your skills, you might consider a
qualification in Barbering and focus on men’s grooming, shaving,
and clipper work.

Many salons also offer apprenticeships
that combine on-the-job training with further study. This route allows you to
earn whilst gaining valuable real-world experience.

With a
Level 2 qualification, you can also start working in a salon to build
hands-on experience. This practical exposure is invaluable and can inform your
decision on further specialisations.

You could also start work in related areas such as:

• Hair and Makeup for Film/TV


• Wig Making and Styling


• Fashion Styling


• Trichology – the study of hair and scalp
  health.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

Dedicated Work Experience opportunities will be supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who will find placement that is right for you. These will give you key experiences ready for your future.

Throughout your studies, you will also take part in a variety on internal and external events for staff, students and our local community.

We also benefit our community by taking part in social action projects which help with development and skill progression, as well as making a difference locally.

You will need to buy specialist uniform kit from our supplier,
which will be used during the course. Full costs can be discussed at
interview.
