On Thursday 15 August, learners at EKC Folkestone College collected their Level 3 results. We caught up with some of our students to congratulate them on their success and find out where they are heading next.
Thalia Wyatt, T Level Education and Early Years
“I am so happy that I have achieved a Merit in T Level Education and Early Years. This course has been so rewarding and I am excited to continue my learning at Canterbury Christ Church University studying Primary teaching and education.
“The course has given me skills and practical experience in early years settings such as my work placement. This will be useful in my future career as I would like to become a Primary school teacher.
“For anyone that is considering studying at college I recommend the T Level in Education and Early Years. It will help you prepare for your next steps by receiving great support, hands-on learning and real- life work experience.”
Tyler Farbrace, T Level in Onsite Construction (Carpentry).
“I am really pleased with achieving a Distinction in my T Level Onsite Construction course in Carpentry. my next step is to continue working full time in my current job as a joiner. In future I hope to become a police officer through studying a dree at university or completing an apprenticeship.
I have developed a lot of valuable skills throughout studying at College that I would not have gained without the support and resources given to me provided by the college.
My advice to those who are looking at college is to choose a subject that interests you now and will help you take your next steps into your career.”
Jaz Kelly, T Level in Education and Early Years
“I am so happy that I have achieved a Merit in T Level Education and Early Years. Now that I have finished college I am going to continue with my part- time job and volunteering with young students.
In future I would like to progress into a career in teaching and education amongst young students.
My experience at college has changed me as I have learnt about the industry and gained practical skills whilst in the classroom as well as my work placement.
My advice if you are thinking about studying at college is to absolutely go for it and take the next step. It might seem scary at first, but you will receive the experience and support you need for the future at college.”
Deputy Principal of EKC Folkestone College, Rob Roy, was in attendance on the day helping students to celebrate their successes.
“It was great to see students receive their results and celebrate their successes and wish them all the best with their next steps”
