John Foster

John has nearly 30 years’ experience working in local government in the fields of economic development, planning, housing, and regeneration, setting and managing budgets, managing people, projects and partnerships. After a brief period at Hove Borough Council, he relocated to Folkestone where he worked for 10 years at Shepway District Council delivering regeneration projects and re-establishing the Council’s partnership with Boulogne Sur Mer. John joined Maidstone Borough Council in 1996 and was later promoted to Head of Regeneration and Economic Development, where he delivered public realm improvement projects, and established a managed workspace and Innovation Centre. He is currently part of the team at Otterpool Park LLP, tasked with delivering the new garden town on behalf of Folkestone and Hythe District Council.
