EKC Folkestone College was filled with festivities on Thursday 11 December as the College community came together for its annual Christmas Celebration, welcoming students, staff, families and pupils from The Churchill School.
Everyone enjoyed performances from the Churchill School choir who treated attendees to some classic Christmas hits and carols, whilst Father Christmas was cosy in his grotto, ready for children to visit him and collect a present.
There was a bustling craft fair featuring handmade decorations from Construction students and gifts created by the Inclusive Learning department.
Children also got creative painting their own tree decorations, whilst Hair and Beauty students offered seasonal nail painting. Catering students also played a key role in the afternoon, having made a variety of Christmas-themed treats, alongside free mince pies.
Carol, Deputy Head of Inclusive Learning, said: “I was honestly blown away by how the event all came together on the day, from the effort the students had been putting in in their classes to create gifts to sell, and not forgetting the outstanding work produced to create a magical Father Christmas’ grotto.
“The whole ‘Team Christmas’ was amazing, followed with the backing from Clare and Rob, thank you to all involved, long may the tradition continue.”
The celebration ended with the switching on of the College Christmas tree, lit in memory of a much-loved Folkestone colleague – a fitting close to a joyful event.
